This is the version of our "First Spider" set for those who would rather not begin with a tarantula. The jumping spider — a diurnal hunter that pursues its prey by sight, full of personality, a spider that literally looks at its keeper and responds to your presence. Or the Eresus — a spider of the family Eresidae that builds intricate hunting webs and hunts by night. Two completely different paths into the spider-keeping hobby, both suited to a first spider, both arriving complete with everything you need for a gentle start.

The jumping spider set includes:

• Vertical critter box — a special enclosure that lets you open the top without destroying the nest built beneath the lid. Sized for jumping spiders from L5 onwards; for smaller individuals we include a transitional container.
• Artificial plant — decoration and extra space to explore.
• Natural décor elements — to arrange however you like.
• Ready-to-use substrate — optional, depending on the jumping spider species.
• Soft specialist tweezers — for offering small insects.
• Pipette + branded ArgiopeTerra spray bottle — regularly offering water as droplets is fundamental to keeping jumping spiders.
• Attractive climbing mesh — a textured surface the jumping spider can move across freely.
